haha. how about using 3 fuse taps, 1 for each gauge?
no need to, i have 5 additional gauges in my 98, tho that i think about only one of them needs a 12v feed, either way they dont draw much power at all, i taped mine off the radio fuse, and tied the all + light feeds together and tied them into the gauge lighting wire right off the headlight switch, so they dim with the dash, and also tied all grounds to a single wire and connect to the bottom of the dash to cut down on the ratnest of wires, been great for the last 5 years, and even if you did get a short, it narrows down the mess of wiring to sort through...
they are the glowshift blue digital series, so yes.
i like that idea, guess ill tie em all 3 together and tiem em into a single fuse tap. ill see how bright it is at night and then decide whether i want to tie it into the headight dimmer
well its digital and theres an orange wire that can be hooked up to the headlight "hot" wire so that it will dim when the headlights come on, however its optional. is the illumination fuse hot when the headlights are off?
According to the 01 manual...... fuse 5 in the junction block (fuse block Inside the truck) IS indeed switched. Should be able to tap in there. (I need to look more close at the diagrams. )
well i was hoping to tap into the illumination fuse b/c i was thinking that the gauges would dim when i dim the dash gauges, but what your saying is that wont work?

ill check and see what #5 is though
the fuse wont do that, you have to tap the wire off the switch for dimming, but as stated before, your gauges probably are not going to be able to dim, but if you ran your 12 volt feed from the radio fuse, your gauges will turn on with the key, and if you hook your optional lighting wire to the illumination fuse (if it is indeed swithched with the headlight switch)they will dim automatically when you turn on the headlight switch
