What's the deal with my aftermarket gauges?

So i've noticed this for some time now, just never got around to posting about it. All my aftermarket gauges (VDO tach, Autometer trans temp, and Autometer diff temp) get fogged over when it is cold (below freezing). The fog is on the inside too, so it is really annoying. Anyone else have this happen with their gauges?

Cheap gauges do that because they aren't sealed well. Pretty normal.

I guess I don't think of Autometer's as cheap. Even my stock dash gauge cluster doesn't do it, and it certainly isn't sealed.

Just like everything else, they're China crap scavenging off a formerly good brand name.

Ya, that's probably true. Sad.

Silver, I had a similar problem with the gauge set (auto meter ultralites) in the race car. Especially on high humidity days, and after some over zealous washing(it is a dirt modified). What I wound up doing was getting some foam insulation, cutting it to fit around the bezels and reinstalling them. Might be worth a shot.

Can you drill a tiny hole in the gauge face where it wouldn't look bad?
