i have 98 1500 and my tcase is going. so i do lots of wheeling so i was thinking can i put a tcase from a 3/4 or 1 ton tcase in my 1500 and if so wha tcase and what year of tcase and i am going to do dana 60 convertion in the summer and i have heard that tcase from a 98 3/4 will bolt right in.or is it worth just rebuilding my tcase?
Go for the 241D case. (LD or HD, either would be an improvement.) You can find them in 98 and up 3/4 and one ton GAS trucks. Gotta be a v-8 though, the 10 uses a different trans output shaft. (I think)
That was an option. Most just have a cover plate where the PTO drive would go. Mine doesn't have the PTO.
Doh! Yep, looked through the 99 brochure again and it says that it's PTO ready. So it wasn't "optional", it has the ability to, you just have to buy the PTO unit.

I am almost 100% sure that v10/diesels used a 23 spline output on the back of their auto's, just like the gas transmissions.
With the stick's they had a 29 spline output, but the auto's use the same sized 23 spline. Just did a double check. Inputs are definitely bigger, maybe that's what you're thinking.
