Check the clutch hydraulics for leaks. Sounds like a blown seal somewhere.

How many miles on the clutch?

Check the whole system for leaks. Especially for evidence of fluid at the back of the master cylinder....... Is the fluid level where it should be?

This symptom right here indicates a problem with the hydraulics. No evidence of leaks, and fluid level being right is kind of a head scratcher though.....

Check the travel of the pushrod on the slave cylinder when someone pumps the pedal a few times. If it travels further on each pump of the pedal, you need to figger out which part of the system is bad. (or, just grab the whole pre-bled assembly, and install it.)

If the pushrod on the slave cylinder is moving, but, the clutch is not working...... probably time to drop the trans, and see what ya got inside there.

I agree with HeyYou, certainly sounds like a clutch hydraulics problem, it doesn't take much air in the system to make it work poorly.
