Ok here its i own a 1997 dodge 1500 lifted with a 5.2 engine w 5 speed trans. Lately its been hard to shift gears. Its when u trying to put it in gear to move out of the drive way or driving down the street. Now some times while my clutch is pushed in the truck will die acting like its in gear but not some it a problem that just started please help me also when u let clutch out its almost half way to let truck start rolling please help im been trying to research it on threads old post cant find anything
I dont know the clutch slave cylinder is not leaking but when u push clutch in then relase to put in gear u have to have it almost half way to get truck moving
Some times if u push clutch pedal up and down couple of times then it would shift ok but its wierd
This symptom right here indicates a problem with the hydraulics. No evidence of leaks, and fluid level being right is kind of a head scratcher though.....
Check the travel of the pushrod on the slave cylinder when someone pumps the pedal a few times. If it travels further on each pump of the pedal, you need to figger out which part of the system is bad. (or, just grab the whole pre-bled assembly, and install it.)
If the pushrod on the slave cylinder is moving, but, the clutch is not working...... probably time to drop the trans, and see what ya got inside there.
