tranny pan swap?

hey guys
i was wondering if a tranny pan from a 5.2 would fit on a 3.9.
mine is about to break through and there is a guy who says he will give me one. any info would be great.

I'm pretty sure it won't swap over since the V6 have the 42RE trannys and the v8's have the 46re.
