My 96 Ram PU with 318 has, for the last 2 mornings not wanted to start. This truck has always started on the first turn over. The last two mornings it turns over fine but won't fire. Just an occasional "huff". When I stop turning it over I smell gas strong from the exhaust. Both mornings it eventually started, idled perfectly, and ran and started fine the rest of the day. I usually do all my own work on this truck but am not sure where to start on this one.

Last time you replaced the regular tune up items?

Last time you cleaned the throttle body?

Last time you checked the coil for good spark?

 

Thanks for the reply. It has probably been too long. around 2 years on plugs, wires, and cap. Gonna start there and see what happens.
