Default Chrome Vs. Aluminum Preference

Hello,
I have '98 Chrome rims on my truck and have an opportunity to get some newer factory aluminum wheels. I would like to know the pro's and con's of getting aluminum wheels or is it better to stay with the chrome? Is aluminum harder to clean? Do you have to clean them with acid all the time? etc. etc. The truck is pavement pounder and plow truck, no off-road.

picture of rims I can get

I have two sets of aluminum rims and they clean up pretty easy, I have had steel chrome on other trucks and they also clean easy so I didnt really see a difference. I think its all about the preference of the owner. but if u can find a extra set of cheap tires run the nicer wheels in the summer and the others when plowing. Your tires will last longer and you will keep the better set of wheels in great shape. hope this helps

ok i know this is an older thread but i did the same thing. my truck came with the steel rims and i know the chrome ones will fit but the aluminum rims dont fit over my drums. i have a 2500 HD with a dana 60 rear. is there anyway to make these rims work on my truck. mine is a 97 and the rims came off a 2000 2500 diesel.
