Don't know!!!
Quick question for you guys:
Can you fit 2007 Dakota Rims on a 1996 Ram 1500? I know the bolt pattern is the same but my friend went to a tire place to get them on the truck and guy said that they won't fit...... Need help asap!!!!! Thanks........ |
Not sure about the bolt pattern on a dakota but on the 1500's they are 5-5.5. It could be possible that the calipers are to big on the ram to fit the dakota rims onto
|
Well my Dakota is 5x5.5 and the Ram has 16 inch steel wheels same as my dakota and he wanted my factory rims for his truck and the guy said that they won't fit!!!
|
Center hole diameter may be different..... test fit one on the front, see what happens. If they are both 16" wheels, with the same bolt pattern, and close to the same backspacing, I don't see why they wouldn't....
|
Well then that guy is wrong. Since the dakota is 5x5.5 it shouldnt be a problem to bolt them up. Either have him take it somewhere else or just put them on himself.
Edit: I didnt even think about the center holes. |
Now that you mention it, i didn't even think about the center hole diameter. Maybe that's the problem.
He just said to me that he was going to try some other places during the weekend to see!!! He's flipping out because he likes the wheels and i give him a good deal on them!!! |
"my friend went to a tire place to get them on the truck and guy said that they won't fit...... "
If that's the case, then I'd be inclined to take the guy's word for it that when he went to put them on the truck, they wouldn't fit. |

What if the tire guy didn't try to put the new wheels on and instead just looked at the new and the old and said "it ain't gonna work"?

Sure that's possible. Anything is. But why would a business, whose purpose it is to take your money, say that it won't work now go away. Just doesn't make sense. I side with John D. You could get a second opinion from a different shop though.
Take a tire off the Dakota, put it on the Ram and see what you get. |
