Door Won't Latch

My driver door won't latch this morning, the latch piece in the door itself got closed, and I can't figure out how to reopen it. On older Chevy's there's usually a little button you push on and it release's the lock, I found a red button with a spring behind it, used a screwdriver and pushed it and it doesn't do anything.

I am missing something?

Grab the door handle, lift up, stick your finger, or a screwdriver into the the latch, and flip the part that moves back into the open position.

Replace the latch. It's fun, but, doable.

roll window all the way up, Remove the door panel, pull back the plastic and remove the clips off of the rods. They're not easy to get off and can be purchased at the local parts store if you break one. Remove the 3 (T35?) torx screws holding the latch into place
