96 Ram 5.9 no start after tuneup
Ok I tried the search function but I didn't see anything exactly like my problem. I did a tuneup plugs, cap rotor. Now the truck won't start and sounds like the spark is firing 180 out. I can hear it popping in the exhaust.I've ran the firing order over 20 times. I've tried rotating the wires on the cap one post in both directions. Unfortunatly thanks to the cap being behind the plenum and no room I wasn't able to replace the cap and transfer one wire at a time like I normally do. The truck had been sitting for awhile and the gas isn't the best but before I touched it the truck would run. The popping in the exhaust is what has me puzzled, it sounds like I have the firing order 180 out. But #1 is at the #1 post on the cap and the order is right......

It has to be either a problem with cap and rotor or your firing order is still out..not too much help we can offer since you already know that...
..I always remove the cap and then transfer wires one at a time . or draw up a diagram on how it should go in relationship to the screw posts on the cap...
There is a couple copies of the service manual here for download in the DIY section of this forum... I'd start there and check your firing order with that.
