Default 98 ram 1500 big issue HELP

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I have a 1998 Ram 1500 4wd with a big problem that I just can't figure out. When you drive it everything is ok for about 15-20 mins then I get this loud clicking noise coming from the front end and also when you turn the wheel left like you are going around a curve the truck starts to vibrate. I have checked or changed the U joints, wheel bearings, axle shafts, diffs, track bar. Please help, I love this truck and hate seeing it just sitting in the driveway. Thanks for any help.

Just for ***** and giggles how are your ball joints? I wouldn't think they would "click" or a cause a vibration, but who know's.....

Wouldn't hurt to have an alignment done either... If the shop doesn't find crap to fix it's usually not to expensive...

I also forgot to mention when you shift into 4wd the vibration goes away and drives just fine.

No worries. No such thing as a stupid question.

Central Axle disconnect. On passenger side of front axle. It what lets things 'free wheel' when it two wheel drive. For the passenger side, there is an intermediate axle, an outer axle, and a collar that locks them together. There is a bearing or bushing that holds the intermediate axle in place, and a 'tit' and bushing on the outer axle that inserts into the Intermediate axle, that hold IT in place. If the bushing between the two axles is sloppy, it MIGHT give you a vibration...... maybe.... When the collar locks to the two halves together though, that bushing is no longer in play, and the collar holds the outer axle in place..... Just a theory, but, might be worth looking at.
