Default Brake lights

Need help!
I have a 2001 Ram 2500 with 5.9 cummins. The problem I'm having is that I have no brake lights.
All the lights work. Tail lights, turn signals, flashers. Just no brake lights.

The fuse under the hood 20amp is good. I changed the brake switch on the pedal, even checked it with a meter, checks okay.

I even took the brake booster out of the system but no change. But if I manually apply the brakes with the hand switch on the booster, the brake lights then work!?!?!?

If anybody has any ideas please let me know !! Thanks!!!

Todd

I'm not sure if this will be any help, but on my moms suburban there is a harness near the rear bumper. I screwed with that and one of the wires were loose. But I pushed it in and then her brake lights started working again.

If your pishing the switch by hand and the lights work, but do not when pressing the pedal, I would check for adjustment on the switch. When the pedal is pressed it may not push the switch far enough to light the lights.
