odd RPM's, stall on stop.

I dont know if this has anything to do with the air intake i put on but it didnt start for a for weeks after i put it on.

So whats happening is when i start the truck for the first time of the day it rev's really high, it will try to drop down but its like it senses a stall it kicks back up, eventually after 8 mins or so it will finally kick down. All seems well untill i try to drive, when you come to a stop everything is fine but when you give it gas to take off it stalls. Unless i really put the peddle to the floor, if i just give it a normal amount of gas to take off from a stop it stalls. I either have to mash the peddle down and take off like a mad man or step on both the brake and gas because when i take off i dont want to stall in an intersection or anything.

IS this making sense to anyone? I bring up the air intake because its the most recent mod to the truck but again, it ran fine with the intake for a few weeks.

Thanks in advanced.

My truck did this and it turned out to be my charging system. New battery and alt toke care of it. I would have it checked

Did you clean the throttle position sensor?

Try cleaning the IAC, and disconnect the negative battery cable before doing so.
