Default rotor replacement
I need to replace front rotors and pads on my '98 1500, any recommendations? are ones available at Pep Boys for example adequate or should I order from Summit or Dealer?

Are you trying to do HD towing or racing? If not the ones from RockAuto should be fine.

I always go with the mid-grade stuff from oreillys or other auto store if you can't wait for rock auto. Never had any problems.

Sure is. But I would disagree on that O'Reilly's thing... Go to NAPA or Carquest.

Wagner thermoquiets are the best pads I've used. Whatever you do, don't get ceramic pads unless you like needing more space to stop and high pitched squeals.

thanks, went with the "best" from one of the chains, I'm sure they will last for a while anyways

great Sheriff, your reply just came in. Did get ceramic, gotta be better than metal on metal noise though. I'll get some earmuffs and increase my following distance

I have ceramics. No squeal, not suffing on stopping distance. Jsut higher cost.
