line pressure adjustment 46re
I have a 97 ram 4x4 5.9 with a 98 tranny..unknow miles but had been rebuilt at some point :/..anyhow It shifts sloppy from 1-2 but is otherwise great I adjusted the tv cable and man that's a pain I kinda went in blind and moved it back towards the firewall quite a bit and it helped. but the pan leaks and I'm going to weld a bung in for a temp probe and drain plug..I have read about the pressure adjustment. how do I do it? safe amount of turns and the out come? thanks.

Adjust your front band. Loosen the locknut on the adjustment screw, torque the adjustment screw to 72 lb/in with a lb/in torque wrench. Back it off 2 7/8 turns and hold it from turning while you tighten the locknut down to 30 ft/lbs. If you can't get a torque wrench on the locknut while holding the adjustment screw, just tighten it down good keeping 30 ft/lbs in mind.

ok,any auto parts stores (Napa,AutoZone,O'Reillys, farm and fleet, are my closest) carry a decent cheap wrench?

Just rent one from the parts store and when you return it they refund you the money.
