Exhaust howling issue
So about 2 months ago I got some cheap exhaust work done to my 2000 Dodge ram 4x4 5.9. I went in not really knowing what I was requesting other than removing the CAT and piping it back to a magnaflow.
Well, now I have what seems to be a howling sound around 1400 RPM and gets louder until the tranny shifts and rpms drop below 1400 again.
I think I may have an exhaust leak. My performance and gas has taken a hit as well.
I crawled under the beast a few days ago and noticed he welded a 3in pipe from the stock Y-pipe to a VX muffler.
So, I am looking to do some patch work. The weld job looks sketchy on top of the piping and I think I may have a leak from somewhere around there.
Can anyone suggest a reliable exhaust patch kit that I can use? Maybe a cement or something until I can get some money to swap the pipe out to a 2.5in and get a better muffler? I think my muffler may be an issue as well.
Thanks
