Default Is my new ECU the problem?

Replaced ECU and it cleared the P code, ran fine for twodays. On day three after driving 25minutes shut down came back 5 min. later won’t start. Came back next day started fine. Today, drove 25 min. shut down, 10 min laterwon’t start.

I read all the problems on the forum. Clean the IAC and TBwould be my first step. If this does notwork, how do I isolate whether or not it is the ECU?
Thanks for any help

Sounds like a faulty wire, like maybe a short in the wiring. Or maybe the harness is not making full contact to it. Check all that stuff before you drop any money in it.

is there like an internal safe mode on it? in case it gets hot? maybe its gettin to much volatage from somewhere and causes it to go into safe mode after a bit. just a thought.

Rock the PCM connectors back and forth while it's running, see if you can duplicate the problems. What was the P code before?

P0601 I will try wiggling the connectors. I'm going to try and borrow a friends PCM and swap it out the next time it wont start and see if that eliminates the PCM as being the problem.

Friends Ram is '97 so swapping the ECU won't work. I guess I'll take it to dealer have them do the diagnostic and trouble shoot the short.

Did you get the PCM from the dealer? P0601 is internal failure.

What's missing when it won't start?

Default >>Update<<

The company out of Florida set me a replacement ECU and that fixed the problem. I wanted to wait a while to make sure it had no issues.

The Dodge dealer said it was reading -50 deg. after it warmed up, so it was sending an excessive amount of fuel causing it to flood. Not bad $100.00 diagnostic fee and $240.00 for a replacement ECU. Still ahead $760.00!
