Default Temp Gauge not working

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 V10. Recently the temp gauge stopped working. It doesn't even move. The connector on top of the sensor felt like it was ready to break so I replaced the sensor. Still didn't work. So I checked the sender, and it felt like it was ready to break as well so I replaced it. Now when the key is on the neddle moves up a little, but it still doesn't read any temperature. Any ideas?

Should be a 2 wire sensor on the V-10. Should see 12 volts on the Violet/Yellow wire with key on. White wire goes to ground. Make sure both wires are doing their jobs.

I am DEFINATELY not dismissing any ideas, but I replaced the thermostat in Janurary. Since then I've put 550 miles on the truck. Is there an easy way to test this?
