Should be a direct swap.
|
Your issues will be brake and possibly sensor related.

i swapped in a dana 70 on my ram and i had to swap over the wheel speed sensor cuz it was a different connection type. the driveshaft hookup was different also, it wasnt a flange type it was the bolt-strap kind. and the leafs perches were to wide since the 2500 has wider springs, so i had to shave the perches. but other than that it was easy. like i said that was a dana 70 the 60 might not have to be modded

He already has a 3/4 ton, so, springs won't be an issue. I DID miss the part about "rear disk brakes" though. That may require the master cylinder/proportioning valve from the axle donor. E-brake cables are going to be different as well.

does the 2001 rear end have the speed sensor in the rear end. I have a 5 speed no speed sensor in trans. ???
|
Yes, it has the sensor. Connector might be different, but, just put in the sensor for the correct year truck.
