Default Engine swap( 4.7 )

I can't find any definite answers to this question but when I swap out the 318 to 360, my dad was wondering if we could put my old 318 into his truck that has a 4.7. Now I'm wondering if the motor mounts, trans, and what not would work?

Why would you swap a 4.7 for a 5.2? The 4.7 is better on fuel and has more power. Considering a 4.7 never came in a second gen, nothing, or slim to nothing would work I'd bet. Its a completely different motor.

Different bolt patterns. Have to swap the trans, too. The wiring would be terrible. And the power is about the same, unless he has a newer one.

The 4.7 is a great engine if you keep the oil changed.

Oh ****. Don't let KasperR34 here that. Hemi-hoe that he is.

I agree with that statement though. My dad's 02 has 130k on it with zero issues with the engine, just the powersteering lmao

My dad was wondering. His 4.7 is lacking in mileage, and was thinking about the 5.2 swap. I didn't think it woulda been worth it to swap engines and everything.

What is his MPG and mileage?
Copper plugs or platinums?
My dad's gets 14.5 mixed driving with 265/70/17 tires and 3.55 gears...

Open highway, around 16-18 depending on the area and the fuel available.

Around 108,xxx and averages 12 mpg. 285's w/ 3.55 is my only guess with bad mileage. Its a 4x4 too and has a K&N drop in filter.

He should be getting better mileage than that, I'd be doing tune up stuff. Might have a miss.

When I changed the plugs on my dads' Ram 10k mi ago, it picked up 1 mpg. In your dad's case it might be more.

I think some of you who say its completely different are missing the picture here...

First off, of course it would fit! they put 4.7 Liter motors into Durangos that housed 318s & 360s! Also they put 360's into 03 Rams that had a 4.7 liter as the other option. I think you'll see the pattern I'm getting at ;-)
