Spark plug gap

Has anyone ever played around with the spark plug gap, making the gap larger or smaller to see if there are any performance gains to be had ?.

You won't notice any gains by changing the gap. You might lose some though.... if you go with a higher output coil, a larger gap is doable.... but, the stock ignition system really isn't that bad.

years ago i did a lot of experimenting with plugs. 1. if its big change swap only one plug, to start. 2. i have ran .045" gap with no trouble. but not sure it helped. 3. a good CDI can run as much as .060-.080" gap. 4. NEVER NEVER run a surface gap plug with a non-CDI on gasoline. you WILL get stranded.
