Shifting issues ugh

So about a month ago I posted a thread about my converter not locking. Soooo, it finally took a **** and I dropped the trans and took it back to the guy who built it as it only had about 14k on it. He took it apart and made sure everything was ok. Said all was good and I had him put a shift kit in it. Spent all night Monday putting it back together and called in Tuesday pissed cause it was starting in 3rd. Checked codes and had a p1738 which I read is a temp problem but the light never came on. Cleared the code and it was fine, then on my way to work this morning same thing, starting in 3rd. I'm think the governor pressure sensor needs to be replaced, anybody got any other ideas? I'm about tapped out on funds lol.

What brand sensor you have in there now?

I'm guessing whatever came in it in 97 lol. I've never changed it. Just weird, it was fine before but I know how electrical things are.

Did your rebuilder change it? (I should certainly hope so....) If not, then it is certainly time for some new electronics.

I'm not sure if he changed them or not.

Get the borg warner heavy duty governor solenoid and sensor, and just stock replacement TCC, and O/D solenoids. Change them all. Probably take care of your problem.

Well ever since I cleared the code it hasn't done it since, but now I've got a whining noise from about 1200 rpm's and up. I've checked fluid 3 times and its right on. I'm really at a loss here. I'm out of money and patience lol.

So I disconnected the tv cable and revved it up and no noise so it's not the new converter lol. It can only be a plugged filter, but the filter should be new. When I get home I'll let it cool off and drop the pan and see I guess.

Are you going to put a drain in it this time? lol

Man, sorry for the bad luck and hope it turns out good and resolves. SHeesh

I need to put a drain in but I just don't even have the couple bucks to spare after this lol. I've got my fingers crossed its something cheap.
