Superchip or cold air intake or flowmasters

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and I was goin to start to add mods to my truck. I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 5.9 L V8 with 100000 miles. I was considering a superchip, cold air intake, or exhaust. I'm eventually goin to add more than just one mod. Which of these mods add the most horsepower and how much?

CAI is for AIR/Fuel IN while exhaust is for AIR/FUEL OUT, so you can expect hp improvement.

Superchips does not make a tuner for a 97. Only 98 and up. If you want a tuner, you'll have to go SCT I do believe. Cold air intake won't do much for you, the factory box is good enough. You could do a K&N drop in filter. Just replacing the muffler may gain you a HP or 2.

SCT tuner will yield the best bang for the buck. CAI will get you nothing, neither will the muffler.

Proper maintenance would be best and get you the most bang for you buck. Do that stuff first

another thing to look at is that cat. either gut it out or get a high flow cat. the stock cats on these trucks are extremely restrictive. hope this helps.

I've had experience with both Superchips and the SCT Tuner and I can tell you from experience if performance is what you want, don't waste your money on the Superchips programmer. The 87 tune on the SCT does more than the 93 performance tune with Superchips. The thing I did like about the Superchips over the SCT was the ability to recalibrate the speedometer if you run oversized tires. As for intake, I would recommend a larger throttle body and kegger mod. As for exhaust, get rid of the stock y pipe that's so restricting. Jegs makes a nice less restrictive y pipe.

But most importantly, do a tune up, check your plenum and make sure everything is working the way it should.

My opinion SCT and CAI won't do much. Go with the Flowmaster, when I replaced my factory muffler with a high flow unit it made a noticeable improvement.
