Lightbulb Front Dana 60 Question

Hey all,
I'm looking at swapping a Dana 60 in for my Dana 44 on my 99 ram 1500. As far as I understand it, the swap is essentially bolt on without any fabrication. Currently I am looking at an axle off of a 1 ton ram that is priced at $800. So my question is will a 60 off of a 1 ton work the same as a 60 off a 3/4 truck? And is there discrepancy in the years? I'm not sure if something like a 95 axle will bolt on to my 99.

Thanks!

yes it will bolt right in. the only difference might be the style of sway bar end link but that is a cheap fix. Just get the newer style sway bar end links.

get the springs too. give you about 2in lift

800 bucks is really expensive imo. I got front and rear 60s for 1000(it was a complete parts truck)

Yeah I thought that that was a ridiculous price but it seems to be what axles go for in Southwestern Montana. As far as the year goes, how far back are we talking? Could I put a 94-2001 60 in no problem?

yep no problem. actually you could go 94-2002. and if you get a late late 2002 aka 2002.5 you will get an axle without a vacuum actuating cad its great i have one

Just pass on that one. Try and find a parts truck. Some beat to hell and back rust bucket with a blown motor but intact drive train otherwise(well at least the axles) and jump on that. then you get two axles and other random things like brake parts, junction boxes, and even the leaf springs if you wanted to go that route(not necessary at all though)
