Default Which Track Bar?

I need a new track bar for my 01 Ram 1500 with a 3" lift. I'd always heard Thuren was the best, but he no longer makes track bars. They left me wanting to go with DT Pro Fab, but reading about it, it seems like the brackets shift and aren't solid unless you weld them on which I don't want to do. Then I saw the Dodge Offroad Forum track bar and it looks decent, but I can't find out much about it or any reviews. Then it seems like the Moog oem replacement is getting decent reviews. Should I just go with the Moog for $100 or is the DOF one that much better? Any others that are better?

I installed a Solid Steel adjustable track bar and conversion bracket on my 2nd gen Ram. It will be the last track bar you will ever need to purchase. See the link below for more information:

Default New moog track bar and thunk and steering off

I installed a new Moog track bar today and now it thunks when turning a hard right and the steering wheel is not aligned, left side of steering wheel is at 10 o'clock when going straight.
I had to jack the right side of the truck up to get clearance for the torque wrench. Bushing side was torqued to 140ft lbs using a 6 inch extension. Any ideas.

Thanks, Jim

have someone push the truck side to side, while you crawl around under it, looking for your noise. Probably the bushing end at the axle.

Thank you HeyYou,

The thunk is coming from the axle side/ bushing side. I'll try tightening it. Any idea on how a new track bar could cause the steering wheel position to change? I think I can get it straight using the drag link sleeve, that is if I can break the sleeve rust.

There is a certain amount of slop in the bolt holes, and there are also manufacturing differences in the parts. It doesn't take much difference to move the steering wheel a ways. Once you have everything in place, and quiet..... just take it in for an alignment. They can re-center the wheel for you then.

I'm going to give the draglink a shot and if I can't break through the rust I'll be get the alignment.

Thanks!

Chemicals are your friend. Be generous with them.
