Default Trans Shift Question?

So i removed my check valve awhile back and honestly haven't driven my truck very much (not my daily driver) and recently with moving have started to want to use it and noticed it has a hard time shifting from 1st. I remember reading that removing to check valve can mean the tunny needs to warm up some so i put that theory to test today and after running around on the side streets for awhile it finally got warm enough i believe to allow it to shift normally again... Its getting cooler out and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced any shift delays after removing they're check valve? Maybe temp is just a coincidence to another tranny issue?

Thanks

I've noticed a bit of the same when I let my truck sit for a while, even with the check valve still in place.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, just gives it some time to warm up in N.

Only thing I noticed was it took a bit longer for the trans to actually want to move the truck on the first drive of the day. (has to refill the torque converter, which doesn't happen in park.)

Sonax sure cure, or various other 'shift kits' would solve the issue.

Thanks guys. after using the truck more i can definitely say that sitting had to be part of the problem, and i know i need to do filter and fluid again to get the rest of the gunk out since its at 240k and i don't know the maintenance history i can tell from the last fluid/filter i did it needs some tlc... Otherwise it seems to be back to normal as of now.

Thanks

I think as soon as we move into out house I'm going to pull a tranny from the yard and do a rebuild myself and see how it goes.
