Drain the radiator and use a mixture of CLR and distilled water. That will help clear up a lot of crud from the system.

Burped and Flushed or Flushed and Burped, System was not to bad, the heater core wasn't filled with crud everything was fairly clean right off. Coolant is clear.

My temp runs anyplace for 178' to 187' with a 195' stat installed

I'm thinking my heat issue is the controller. I can get the heat in the truck up just by messing with the temp dial.

Does the 99 have the little stepper motor for the temp door? Or did that start in 00?

Bad_Moose 10-19-2014 11:00 AM

I don't have a clue. I know the vacuum for the blend door works that opens to the inside of the cab. Broke a vacuum line last week while checking the lines.

Blend door should be either cable, or electrically operated.... just take a look under the heater box. If you have the little motor, it will be just to the passenger side of the trans tunnel, on the bottom of the heater box.

found it, and it seams to be working. Turns when you turn the temp control knob.

Do you have the little electric motor? If so, chances are good the plastic coupler has cracked, and it isn't actually turning the shaft for the door as much as it should. Heatertreater.net has the fix. :)

yes electric motor. Checking out that web sight. Thanks
