Won't idle after maintenance

I recently got an '01 with a 5.2 with 99k miles. It ran okay but since I do not know the history, I decided to do some maintenance. I cleaned the throttle body and did the keg mod and replaced all the gaskets I came across. I replaced plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I had a new water pump but after tearing in to it I saw that it had recently been replaced which would explain the very clean coolant. I flushed coolant and got zero sediment out of the system. When I turned the engine on it fired up on first try (after priming fuel pump a few times). But it won't stay on unless I step on the gas pedal. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you unplug battery and drain residual juice from the system ?

Discomecct battery and cut headlights on for a few seconds. then connect and try to idle.

The battery was disconnected all day while I was working on it. I just tried to turn it on again and it is idling now. It's late and I've been on it all day so I'm going to quit for the day but I will take it for a spin tomorrow to see how it feels. The plugs, wires and cap were in good shape and I replaced them anyway, but the throttle body and iac valve were pretty crusty so I am expecting good results.

As I was laying in bed I had an epiphany. I left the iac unplugged. I jumped up and ran out with a flashlight to confirm it. That was it.

That'll do it. :)

It IS cleverly concealed on the back side of the throttle body...... so, I doubt you are the first to experience this. :D
