Sorry forgot to mention it is a squeal. Thinking it maybe just a seal?
When I first ran it. It didn't make any noise till I got above 20mph. Then after a couple of min it did it with out putting foot on throttle.
well sure enough i leave work in 4 wheel (snowing bad) i hear the squeal. then about 1 min later, nothing for 25 miles. stop and go traffic 0 mph to 50mph. all the way home nothing.
take off for dinner and it squeals for about 30 secs then nothing.
LOL kinda hard to explain.
its not lasting as long anymore as it did the very first time i heard it.
wife just described it like when your breaks are getting low and they squeal.
not that high or constant.
i guess it may sound like that. your description.
now it only does it for about 1 mile and thats it.
Sooo. What it could be is that the u joints in the yoke are going bad and creating the noise and vibrating to the yoke joint, to make it sound like it's coming from the transfer case seal/bearing?
It does it when there is tension on the drive.
didn't get a chance to run it yesterday.
