Coil and plugs

Has anyone installed the super coil or screamin demon coils from summit in their trucks? Recommended plug and gap with it? I don't feel like going MSD. And I upgraded the cap and rotor already. I have champions in it now but am doing the plenum repair and the coil is original from 96 I believe.

Someone on here swears the accel super coil thing is basically the devil incarnate. So there's that.

I can't tell wether that is good or bad

Unless I use these?

So I guess the question is this MSD coil or screamin demon coil? 40,000volts compared to 45,000volts

I've got the DUI Screamin' Demon and their Live Wires. I spec'd out what I think are the closest fit plugs available, though I'd prefer to go one heat range colder if such a thing existed. I'm running NGK Laser Iridium IZFR6K13 gapped at .058" and they looked so good at about 24,000 miles that I expect to get the 100,000 miles out of them that I expected when I spent the money it takes to get them. The gaps were dead nuts right on where I'd set them at installation and the color good on all eight.

It's a bit of a challenge to find plugs with the correct configuration and designed to run such a wide gap, but here they are:

The photo's kind of fuzzy but it's the one I've got. Check out those monster gaps. :)

Performance Distributors told me that their recommendation was to just stretch the gaps on Autolite 3923's, but those plugs are not designed to be opened up that far and the strap angles would be all fouled up which could lead to inconsistent firing and excessive wear.

I'm running a summit cap and rotor with brass tips. And summit 8mm wires so the screamin demon shouldn't be a problem. I can find a large gap plug. Would coppers be a bad idea with the high intensity?

Per above;
http://performancedistributors.com/p...-ignition-kit/
Screamin Demon coil, Live Wires, Brass Cap & Rotor.
And you can pick your wire color (Black, Blue, Clear, Purple, Red, Silver, Yellow).

Stay away from this!

I had one and it died and left me stranded after about 2 years use. I have heard similar stories about them also.

I'll probable end up with a blaster coil. If I have rounded connector I should be fine right? And some copper plus plugs gapped at 45 probably should do

I wouldn't expect them to be problematic, but I'd want to check them out after a few thousand miles to look for electrode erosion and upgrade to expensivum plugs if there's any evidence of it.

I'm curious to know the part number you find that's a copper plug in the correct configuration and designed to run such a wide gap. I failed to find one when I spec'd out my system four or five years ago. I wasn't specifically looking for one -- I wanted expensivum for their longer life.
