Trans shift help
I just put a new to me trans in my 01 1500 and on my first drive around the block it didn't shift out of first gear. I dont have the kickdown cable adjusted, but from what i read it needs to move through the throttles whole range of motion. If im wrong, someone please correct me. I dont have access to a scanner that could tell me line pressures and pressure sensor activity, but if those sensors are bad, would it not let the trans shift? Thank you guys for your help.

What year was the donor trans?

I have no idea. The 7 pin connector and every other connector for that matter, plugged right in with no problem. I could take a the sensors and connector out of my old trans and put it in there. But I was losing first gear and dont want to switch the valvebodys.

Are you sure the new to you used trans had functioning gears above first to begin with?

It's the pressure sensor, and possibly governor solenoid that are different. Wouldn't need the whole valve body, there is a different clip that holds one, or the other, in. Having the wrong electronics in there will definitely give you some interesting problems.
