1996 ram 1500 hard to start when warm - HELP

I recently changed the thermostat and water pump on my truck. Put it all back together, and it starts up and runs great. However if i start the truck while its warm, i have to have to mash the gas pedal to get it to start. When its cold it starts immediately.

I replaced all injector o-rings thinking maybe there was a leak somewhere in there.

Any ideas?

You have two temp sensors on your truck, the one by the heater hose should be a one-wire, for the gauge in the dash, the one the PCM pays attention to is close to the thermostat housing. Make sure that one didn't get damaged, and is plugged in good. Due to the location, the plastic connectors get brittle over time, and the PCM may not get an accurate reading. That can cause all sorts of trouble.

Welcome to DF! :D

Thanks HeyYou! I pressed down on the sensor you were talking about, and it seems like that did the trick

I love the easy ones. :D

I read something about it possibly being a leaking injector, so i replaced all the o-rings on the injectors. I was starting to run out of ideas. I called my dad and he said the same thing you said. Thanks again for the help

The O-rings won't help with leaking injectors. What they are talking about there is, the injectors not sealing closed, so, they always drip a bit of fuel, as long as there is pressure. Its an internal thing, and you wouldn't see it with the injectors installed. :D
