Default Exhaust manifold temporary fix

i had to replace my exhaust manifold gaskets and of course the bolts either stripped out or were missing from previous owner. I have to order the bolts online and I currently have 4 bolts on each side, so there is quite a leak. I bought some sealer for exhaust leaks...would it do harm if I patched up the leak on the manifold with that temporarily until the bolts come in?

If it is leaking between the manifold, and gasket, or, even out the empty bolt holes, sealer ain't gunna cut it. I wouldn't drive it like that either..... not being properly sealed will burn the gaskets, and they will never seal right. It may already be too late for them.

It would be fun to get that stuff off after it's hardened by the heat of the exhaust, I wouldn't use it.

Why don't you just pick up some bolts from a hardware store?
