2001 DODGE RAM 1500 Engine keeps dying
2001 DODGE RAM 1500 QUESTION
My Dodge Ram has been having some issues lately and I can't figure out what the solution is.
The engine starts just fine but after 10-15 minutes, once its warm, it starts dying. The fuel gauge goes to 0, even when the tank is completely full. The speedometer starts saying 'no bus' and the engine dies. If I wait 10-15 minutes and try starting the engine again, it starts just fine but then dies once the engine has warmed up.
I changed the fuel pump and the fuel relay but it didn't solve any problems.
If anyone has had this issue before or knows what needs to be changed/fixed, I'd really appreciate it!

Maybe take your battery cables off and clean them. Both ends, not just on the battery. Take off and clean any ground wires you can find. Hey You will probably remember where they are located. There's one from the battery to the fender, the passenger side of the firewall to the engine, one on the power steering bracket, one on the alternator. This is on my 95, not sure if your's is different.

Found this thread, not quite exactly the same problem your having but it does address the "no bus" issue, with some troubleshooting ideas. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-fine-tho.html
I also did some research that said it may be a problem with the ECM. I had to have the ECM in my wife's truck repaired not too long ago because her voltage regulator inside of it was going out. When her truck got hot, like after driving for 20-30 mins, the battery gauge would max out, but when I'd check with my meter I was only getting ~13 volts. Hopefully that's not the case here, but just food for thought.
