TRUCK won't start
 

So I have a 1997 Ram 1500 its an automatic, that I pulled motor out of to install on a 1999 Ram 1500 that is manual. Motor from 97 truck was in perfect running condition when pulled. The 99 I bought had a supposedly bad motor they said. The prev owner said they were driving home from a 3 hr trip and truck limped home last couple of miles, said it was supputering, shut off and couldn't get it to turn over again. Towed it home, got it to turn over but wouldn't stay on Anyways, I pulled the motor installed the 97's motor, it turns over buy wont stay on, its doing exactly what the original motor did. i replaced fuel pump and crankshaft sensor. Any ideas? I know its not the motor, it was running fine up to the day i pulled it. Thanks in advance.

Check the crankshaft position sensor. It's behind the passenger side head, down on the bell housing... it is frequently a victim of engine/trans swaps. I think the 97, and the 99 should both use the same sensor.....

I replaced the crankshaft sensor before I installed the motor

Better check it then. They are prone to getting crushed between the engine and trans.
