More information would be very helpful, such as year, make, model and engine in your truck. How many miles are on the truck and what types of maintenance have been performed on this truck to-date?

And any codes!!!

the first thing you might wanna check is the evil exhaust conversion magic alchemy unit known as the catalytic converter. most any exhaust repair shop will do a pressure test for free.

That's a great catch! At that mileage and age, if the converter had not been replaced before, that's a perfect place to check. Sometimes, you can check by standing at the back of the vehicle and watching the exhaust while another person operates the engine throttle - the flow of exhaust should want to knock your hand off the exhaust pipe.
