electric cooling fans
I am asking the same question. I know a few guys that have put them on there Cummins and the results they say have been worth the effort. I have a '09 Hemi and am asking will this work for a gasser? The elimination of that fan has to reduce the strain on the engine therefore increasing milage and performance. My Cummins friend bought his fan system through Flex-a-lite.....www.flex-a-lite.com

After having my regular clutch fan fail, and burn a valve, I went the e-fan route. I made my own, with 2 16'' fans I bought on ebay for $50. Made my own mount, inside the stock shroud, and wired them to switches inside the cab.
Many elect to get the controller that will automatically engage them at a certain temp, which is a great option, but I wanted the ability to manually control it (since I am the only driver of my truck).
I did notice a little gain in power, and MPG, but nothing that was so great that I would recommend it to everyone.
If you have the $$$, the flex-a-lite is the best way to go for sure. But, if you are decently handy, you can make your own for well under $100!

Notice the brackets for the plastic jugs?
How much is your time worth to build your own?
If it's free, I'd like to buy some from you because I don't have enough.

well they don't come cheap. mine wasn't as expensive but it ran a close 2nd but it's well worth it trust me. mine has already paid for itself in the fuel i've saved. I think the diesel one is more expensive because of it's frame.
