Jerking while driving
Got a 97 1500 4x4 that just started jerking while driving. Doesn't do it all the time. Noticed it first coming up my drive in 1st gear felt kind of like a slip but trans shifts and pulls fine. No rpm changed noted yet. No CEL so guessing it shouldn't be a sensor? Has always clunked into reverse but have read that's normal for these trucks. Any thoughts?

No like a jerk in the drive train

Engine miss? When's the last time the truck had a tune up?

Was hoping you'd comment lol. And not sure I've had it for about 10 months and I haven't done one on it. That's kind of what it feels like maybe but no code?
|
If its just a random misfire, it has to do it A LOT before the PCM becomes annoyed enough to actually turn on the light. :) There may be pending codes though, wouldn't hurt to check. Also, if you can, check the misfire counters, and see what things look like.

have had it checked. No history stored of codes. That was at autozone. And how do I check the misfire counter?

Need a scanner that can read data. Don't know if the parts store fellers will do that......
