Default Truck dies while stopping unless put in neutral or first

Okay so I'm having different people tell me different things what's happening is in my 2001 Dodge Ram 4 wheel drive with a 5.9 while it is in Overdrive when I stop at a stop sign or red light the truck Lopes and acts like it wants to die unless I drop it in first gear or neutral then the truck stays running with no problem also I'm having acceleration problems I go to hit the gas and it don't want to give me what it's supposed to anybody with any help would be much appreciated

Any codes? Is the truck in limp mode? (starts out in second gear.)
