transmission or torque converter?

Hey folks got another issue... this time Ive got a sound coming from the back of the engine that sounds like a metal disk bouncing off something. this noise only starts around ten MPH. It started while I was rnnning some errands, and within about ten miles I got a loss of power until I floored it hen got power back for a few seconds then it would disappear again. I still get power starting then it goes away.

Does the trans start slipping?

cman9898 09-18-2018 10:12 PM

no it doesn't clunk back into gear it just comes back alive

Not sure I understand.... That sounds more like an engine problem than a trans problem.

if it is in the engine then what could I be looking at? the motor has less than 100k on it... could it be from water intake? I was in the middle of Florence for a bit.

Was the problem present before Florence? :) If not, something may indeed have gotten wet. But, running down the freeway for awhile should dry everything out. (gets toasty warm under the hood.....)

that's the odd part it doesn't occur at low speed but when I hit 45 it looses all power

There is a chance that it could be your engine and not your transmission. Any shaking?
