2001 dodge ram 360 oil pam gasket replacement
So for the longest time I have been burning through oil in my truck, I had always assumed it was the manifold gaskets seeing as it is a common problem with these motors. But earlier today I gave the underside of my truck a better look since I noticed some oil was leaking and to my surprise it looked like there are two blowouts in the oil pan gasket. So I am now hoping that this is my oil consumption problem seeing as there was a lot of oil under my truck. I am just wondering as to how long of a job that this would be for me to do or if it would just be better to take it someplace and have them do it. I am fairly mechanically inclined so id like to think I could probably do it. Also if any of you know some tips to make this job go easier id like to know
Thanks!
Thanks!

On the 4x4's it's easy, plenty of room to work, not sure about the 2wd trucks..... When I did mine, I removed the braces from the engine mounts, to the bellhousing, the starter motor, (be sure and disconnect the battery, I just set it aside, and left the wires attached.) and the dust shield on the bellhousing. 3 million bolts, and you can pull the pan down, and back, till it falls out.
