Can system failing to read
 

Hey guys I’m new here and my names Anthony. I just recently bought my 2001 Ram 1500 with 98,000 miles on it. I was plugging in my scanner to make sure all is well with the truck and I have no engine light or codes. But when reading the system I get these fails in reading. I don’t know if it’s the system the truck is ran on and maybe it’s normal? Like I said I just purchased the truck it is my first dodge vehicle.
if someone could give some insight I’d appreciate it.

These are merely all the different protocols used across different manufacturers and years. Chrysler didn't use the CAN bus in the 2nd gen RAM.

Awesome thanks for the info! I appreciate it. I wasn’t sure if this model did run on can bus. I don’t know much about dodge like I said haha

Technically dodge used CAN bus in 02 2500s then went to a different system on the early 3rd gens. Then went back to CAN bus
