Run or don't run?
I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 2 wheel drive with the 5.2l 318 engine. This truck seems to have a mind of it's own. When she runs she runs great without any problems. I can go anywhere, stop and start without any problems. Now if I let the truck sit for a couple hours, go back out to start it she will not kick over or even fire. Then I can go out for the next 2-3 days and she may not start but might fire but unable to start. Then the next morning i'll try again and she'll fire right up and run like a charm. This truck has a new fuel pump so I know that's not the problem. As long as it's warm it seems to fire right up, like after coming out of a store or getting something quick somewhere. But after it sits it may take a few days before having any luck in having it fire up again. Sometimes the check engine light will come on but it will go back off before I can get a code. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this problem?

Check your battery, make sure there isn't any moisture under the distributor, check all wires, and make sure there is no water in the fuel lines. Also if you used super thick oil, that could be, but that's unlikely.

The battery is fine but i'll check the distributor and wires. It was tuned up 2 yrs ago but i'll look anyways. Someone mentioned the crack shaft sensor as well?? I have dry gas in with the fuel so I don't think it's water with the gas. Thanks for the
