Can't find anywhere (Level/Lift) 2WD Xt
Gen 2 98' Dodge 2500 12v Cummins 5.9L Xt Cab 8ft Bed
Tires that were on it: 245/75r16 New tires im getting put on it as i type: 305/70r16 Trying to find a level/lift combo or kit to bring it up 1.5 to 3" (Can be more if price is reasonable)... Doesn't have to be a level cause I kind of like the stance on this truck. It has a the full tool box / steel bed style (X-Heavy Wrecker shop truck). I have found: --- Rear ------- BDS Add-A-Leaf-Springs (1-3") (No restriction on 2wd/4wd/xt cab or not atleast what i was told by the phone rep of the supplier) ------- Spacer Blocks w/ U Bolts (2-3") (Restriction on Xt cab not sure why but someone might shed some light on it as to why) ------- Longer shocks etc needed??? --- Front ------- Spring Spacers (2-2.5") (Does not say anything about xt cab restrictions so dont know if one exists) ------- Longer shocks etc needed??? If anyone has a combo that would work to gain the 2"+ or close to lift from stock that would clear 33x12.5's on stock steel 16"s I would appreciate it as im running out of companys to call. :icon_couch: Time to drink a burrr and prop my feet up :icon_drink: |

Spring spacers won't work on a 2wd. If you lift the bank the overload springs have to go. There aren't any lifts for the front of a 2wd that I have seen

Truck looks like a 55 Lincoln Capri in the rear with part of the tires covered lol

That would lower me even lower so how would i accomodate for that? I would think I could put those 3" blocks between the set of 4 leafs and the axle right? Then the coil spacers either the combo or front set Someone will laugh at this question but is there a way to ignore front spring spacers and just put longer springs in say from another truck that has a factory lift like a sport model or 3500.. Heres a write up on an 03 ram 1500 standard cab v6... I assume your first sentence is "Again that leaf spring wont work on a 2wd, add-a-leaf is only for a 4wd" second sentence i assume "You can't lift a 2wd with springs you have to get a longer spindle/knuckle" SOOOO with that response now that add-a-leaf wont work on it with the overload leaf springs: ----- The combo i have listed above that comes with front coil spring thingy spacers will or wont work on the FRONT? ----- The combo i have listed above that also contains blocks and longer U bolts will or wont work on the REAR? ----------- if the answer is yes then there is no difference between a set of rear lift blocks for a 4wd compared to a 2wd correct....? |
After posting my reply I looked up what a knuckle/spindle is since I do think you were refering to leaf springs(rear) at the beginning of your last reply Mopar then ended up talking about lifting only with spindle/knuckle is possible and come to find out those are front end lift parts when you were talking about the rear since its 2wd and has overload leaf springs(rear) when consulting about the add-a-leaf.
YOU SIR ARE CONFUSING!!!!:icon_fryingpan: Out of all this I have gained this knowledge: - What a lifted spindle/knuckle is. - Add a leaf springs will not work due to overload springs I will continue to peel away the layers of the onion to get a full response on the different parts/combo/compatibility. Can someone shed some light on what Mopar is meaning to explain to me? |

Where the ball joints and wheel bearings mount is called a knuckle some call it a spindle. You need a taller one of those to lift the front of a 2wd truck.
