I noticed a fuel leak 2 weeks ago after filling up, looked under the truck and there was fuel dripping on he ground from around the fuel pump.
I didn't really look at it too closely, I have had fuel pump on my list for it since I got it 6 months ago..
I ordered s new Airtek fuel pump and decided today was the day..
I decided the box lift method was probably easiest and it was. Hardest part was breaking the bolts loose, I don't think they've ever been off. Every thing else went easy and I didn't notice until I got the old pump out that the rubber cap on the unused nipple was dry rotted. That was the source of my leak.
Oh well I feel better with a new pump on an old truck,
It also starts on the first crank instead of needing 2 cranks for it to fire.

You are going to regret skimping on the pump. AirTek has a horrid reputation. :) Expect to change your pump again within six months. Don't bother with the warranty replacement, get a delphi, or denso pump. Do it once, and be done with it.

That was what I thought when I saw Airtex, too. GM also used Bosch from the factory in at least some GMT800s, but I dunno if their pumps for Dodge are any good.

Hope it'll be OK.
I've used airtek fuel pumps for years, hope you guys didn't jinx me.

Yep,
I regret it now, the airtex fuel pump.
Pump is still working but fuel gauge now does not work.
No more airtex pumps for me.

I feel your pain. Drives me nuts -- even if they get the pump right poor QC means the fuel level reading will screw you.

Honestly I miss the OBS Fords where you just swapped a new pump assy onto your existing sender.
