So I just replaced the Transmission Pressure Governor Solenoid and Sensor in my 97 ram 1500 4x4 with a 318. Now all I have is low and reverse. Tried the ECM/TCM re sets. Any ideas??

Unplug the 8 pin connector on the trans. Go for a drive, keeping in mind you will have ZERO automatic function. No TCC or O/D either. You will have to up/down shift manually, as appropriate. If the trans goes into the gear you tell it to, when you tell it to, you have an electronic problem still. If it doesn't, it's rebuild time.

Trans is 40 k old, drive about 15-2500 A year. Had a check engine light on, code was for the gov solenoid, it shifted ok. Where's the 8 pin plug?

8 pin plug is on the left side, rear from the shifter linkage. Pointing up.

i just did the same to mine. I had similar issue. I disconnected battery for a minute or two to reset the computer. Reconnected and truck drives like a new one!

Did that, still nothing, put the old governor back, shifts ok, but new code P0743, cut back the 8 pin connector wire cover, lots of exposed wiring, ordered a new harness, will keep ya posted..
