Remanufactured 47RE's
Who is a reputable outfit to get a remanufactured 47RE tranny for my 2001? I see quite a few online but I would like some recommendations from purchasers.
Thanks. |
I see you are in Alaska, Are you wanting to get it local or from the lower 48? Patc was a good source but not sure what's going on with them. If it were mine I would get the parts to rebuild it and have it done locally. Otherwise you will be paying shipping.

Too much bad press for Anchorage rebuilders. If I could still find an OEM factory reman I'd lay out the coin to get one, but seems there are only remans now. I'm not truck pulling, so I don't need a spec'd up tranny, just one that'll take the V-10 power without breaking. I'm out of adjustment on what I can do, so this is going to happen this summer....hopefully.

I am not aware of ANY Trans shop that has a good reputation....... :D
Do you have a place and tools, you could rebuild it yourself?? Fair few folks here have done exactly that, having never been inside an auto trans before. There are some REALLY good video series on YouTube for just such an occasion. |
I hear a lot about Gearstar on TV. They have a video with Freiburger, Not sure if that's supposed to be an endorsement. :icon_shrug: They don't go into detail as what they put in them other than " Every unit is meticulously assembled with upgraded internals, including high-strength clutches, precision-machined valve bodies, and custom torque converters, ensuring that it can handle the increased power and torque that modern engines produce."
The price of a 727 is $6,995.00 minus the $550 core charge. :icon_saywhat: 24K gold plated steels? :icon_no: |
