^^^ No the flex plates are different from 5.2 to 5.9 one is weighted and the other is not, if you searched this forum or the web you would see that.

I thought they only started putting the weights on the flex plate starting on or after 96. Before they were on the torque converter. So your 96 5.9 probably had weights on TC, and the 95 5.2 wouldn't have had any weights, TC or flex plate on the truck it came out of.
So if your flex plates were indeed the same, that means the 5.9 had weights on the TC, because it had to have them somewhere. If you reused the torque converter, then they should still be on there. I had the 5.9 in my durango replaced by the 5.2, and finally traced a vibration back to this issue. Dropped the tranny, removed the weights, and the problem went away. The vibration was not highly noticeable, some might confuse it for something like a rough patch in the road, and it was only above about 2700 rpm. Below that, it still ran super smooth.
