RE: Headers
Positive Performance has made the Tri-Y header sold under the Mopar name
during at least some of the years since 1994
KRC sells them, and other brands
Billy W will give you straight talk about them.
http://www.krcperformance.com/newcontent/headers.html
Most of the NASCAR shops in NC seem to be going to Tri-Y headers with longer tubes.
There seems to be a trend away from 4 into 1 header design.
Don't expect more than 2-5% gain from headers exhausting into mufflers and cats.
2-5% gains are about what you feel in the difference in your engine power between
a cool 45 degree morning and a hot 95 degree afternoon.
Whether the money and work is worth it is up to you.

RE: Headers
I move to wherever the next engineering project is
but I believe North Carolina is one of the great places in the USA
..mountains, beach,
world class high technology
and yet miles of quiet southern country roads.
"Quiet Professionals" at Blackwater and Fort Bragg
and a surprisingly large population of Quakers who are just as brave doing the opposite.
If NASCAR would change its rules
North Carolina would have the world's most advanced racing engine shops....
but right now they only have the undisputed title of
the world's most creative racing rule 'benders'.
I have spent 20 of the last 34 years paying taxes in NC.

RE: Headers
sounds like the headmans i had are about the same trouble as summit. Hours and hours, gasket after gasket. I even modified to get to quit leaking and that didnt work. They ruined me away from headers. But i could feel the power.......or was that becuase of all the leaking. Finally putting them on one more time and the weld starting cracking. I dont think the flange was square. It looked twisted....
