I have a 2001 Ram1500 2-wheel-drive truck.
I am going to replace the front wheel bearings. I have purchased new nuts to put on the spindle, as they are marked "do not re-use"
What is the torque these should be tightened down to?
I thought the wheel bearings in the 2wd 1500 were factory sealed and not able to be serviced. I believe you have to replace the whole hub assembly. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
If you are replacing the bearing, then you should be replacing the hubs as they are a complete unit. The torque on that retaining nut is 185 ft.lbs. Stand On It! lol

185 ft-lbs....that sounds right for the size of the nut I am dealing with. It is a 1-3/8" nut and clearly says on it "DO NOT RE-USE". It does not have a cap nor a cotter-pin on it. The bearings are sealed units, and can be pressed out of the hub. I assume they are meant to be replaced since both Dodge and all the major auto-parts stores sell the bearings (Fed-Mogul S513058) It is a double-taper bearing.
